The AMF vapour transfer valve allows for the capture and return to the plant of all vapour that would otherwise be discharged into the atmosphere during the loading and offloading process. The Butterfly valve is mostly used as a secondary valve and is often fitted together with either a bottom outlet valve or flush valve. As a secondary valve the butterfly valve offers back-up to the primary valve and can be used in bottom loading environments. The objective of the combined vacuum/pressure relief valve is designed to protect tanks against accidental over-pressure or excessive vacuum.
