Specialized Solar Systems (SSS) was established in 2008 to develop an affordable, renewable, alternative energy source to the millions in Africa with no foreseeable access to the national electricity supply. We specialise in providing complete off-grid electrification (with optional back-up) to rural and undeveloped communities in South Africa and other African countries. Our off-grid solar electrification projects provide an effective and renewable energy source that meets the highest safety and design specifications. For two years its pioneers travelled the globe redesigning input values, setting up supply lines, securing various IPs, and investing many millions along the way. This gave rise to the birth of a manufacturing plant. With the envisaged roll-out programmes utilising unskilled labour, future production possibilities are limitless. Future roll-out programmes requiring grants and government funding are under way to provide the necessary large scale development, training and distribution for these sustainable DC off-grid solar energy solutions. It is part of SSSs vision to train and equip unskilled labour to increase manufacture of these DC Micro-Grids in all rural and disadvantaged areas throughout Africa, creating sustainable employment and social upliftment for as long as the sun continues to shine.
