Established 2002 in George, Cape Palette Art Gallery soon created a reputation for their professionalism, high quality and a genuine enthusiasm for the arts. In 2016 Cape Palette built their own studio gallery! The new studio is full of light and is specially designed to offer our clients and art students a more relaxed atmosphere. With the framing workshop onsite we will continue to provide the best advice to all your framing needs, Situated at 34 Airway Street in Heather Park, with lots of safe parking in front of the gallery. Cape Palette hosts regular curated groups and solo exhibitions, as well as other cultural and interesting events. Leander Brand emigrated from Germany to South Africa in 1985, originally moving to Somerset West and Swellendam before finally settling in the beautiful town of George, in the Garden Route. In 2002 he opened Cape Palette Art Gallery in George together with his wife Doris. Being a perfectionist, Leander takes great pride in all framework undertaken by him at Cape Palette. The framing is done with great care and precision, using only the best materials available in order to preserve a client’s paintings or pictures for many years to come. With his 18 years of experience in the field of framing and art, he knows exactly which frame will enhance a painting, a photo or any other object. Leander Brand offers a professional picture framing service that adheres to the highest standards, as well as offering helpful advice to anyone who wants to attractively and professionally display their pictures or artwork. All framing is done on premises by Leander Brand himself, and he is equipped to provide for all facets of framing with a large variety of frames and matt boards at his disposal. All your framing requirements can be met while we consider your design, function, creativity, costs and budget. Doris Brand was born in the small town of Speyer in Germany. In 1985 she decided to immigrate together with her family to South Africa. In 1988 she married Leander Brand and they have two children Benjamin and Vanessa. In 2002 they moved to George and opened Cape Palette Art Gallery. Besides managing the gallery with her husband, Doris is an artist in her own right. She exhibits at their gallery amongst others, as well managing Cape Palette. Together with her husband, Doris curates the exhibitions at Cape Palette. Soon after Doris and Leander opened their gallery, people approached Doris for art lessons. She started occasionally teaching workshops, but the lessons quickly became more frequent and are now three to four times a week. Doris loves sharing her passion for the arts and has taught many adults and teens over the past 14 years. Through years of experience Doris has become an established artist and also regularly features in exhibitions.
