started operation in 1984 with a portfolio of UK companies with Solids and Fluids handling expertise. With the break-up of the British Steam Specialties Group, Soliflo, as we were originally called, concentrated on the fluid control products of Rhodes and the KEK/Mucon solids processing and handling equipment. It also introduced into SA the Kanon range of fluid loading equipment. In 1998 the name Soliflo went with the transfer of the major capital equipment marketing activities to set up a new company. Flocare was renamed to look after the component spectrum and it added further products to its portfolio. Then the solids handling ranges of Kemutec was put under a sister company called Mucon which has now been transfered to DC Weighing. The operation is augmented by our Stores facility in Emmarentia which successfully imports, stores and distributes our product lines. In addition to the standard calibrated scale/pointer flow rate indication with low flow switching, the unit is available with the I-Mon analogue output. This design is a sensitive frictionless current pick-up using the direct relative radial position of the shaft to the PCB to produce the current range scaled to the calibrated rate of flow through the meter. The spring loaded vane in the body of the unit gives a flow reading relative to the variable opening produced by the applied pressure drop. A valuable tool for any automatically controlled process system.
