Our pledge is to do all we can to ensure that you feel relaxed and rejuvenated when you leave our river bank. We try hard to ensure that you experience the best of this area of outstanding beauty, and the peace you have deserve on a well-earned break. We are filled with joy when a guest leaves ecstatic; equally so, terribly distressed on the rare occasions when a guest has felt we have not lived up to expectations. We welcome criticism: it is hard, but the only way to get better. Built in the 1920s, Moontide was one of the first residences to be built in the romantic enclave of Wilderness. The thatched homestead (above) was host to a string of illustrious guests until unexpected tragedy struck, and the house was abandoned and left to ruin. It was finally put on the market in the 1980s and purchased by Maureen Mansfield, who decided to restore the homestead to its former glory rather than tear it down. In 1994 Maureen threw open her doors to her first paying guests with just four rooms. Inspired by the response, she has subsequently created another four suites, and updates annually. Each room and cottage is unique in décor and location: guests may prebook specific rooms, but on arrival they are welcome to inspect what is available and change their choice (assuming availability for the duration of their stay). Arrive to in time to enjoy a your complimentary bottle of bubbly, and decide which restaurant you want to spend your first R200 meal voucher. Enjoy the bird life, stroll on the beach or explore the beautiful national park, then prepare to be thoroughly spoiled with a tandem treatment at the award-winning Views Spa. You will be left in total privacy to enjoy in the invigorating Moroccan RASUL steam room. After your delicious massage you can relax in the heated pool, sauna or Spa bath with sea view. Then return to your room or one of the lagoon terraces to drink in the tranquility and peace while you decide where to spend tonight’s R200 dinner voucher. Our ROMANCE SPECIAL costs R1800.00 per person sharing, inclusive of two nights accommodation in a luxury room, two full breakfasts, R400 to spend at the restaurant of your choice, bottle of house bubbly, and a pampering RASUL steam room and tandem massage treatment.
